"Becoming a mother of two and being an advocate for women has been a major reason of my vision to empower and walk alongside women to help them see their own strengths,

and find healing tools within."

Why did I get into a helping profession? I get asked this question all the time. The first time I stepped into a therapist’s office, I was fifteen, I was afraid, the therapist seemed unrelatable, I was still in shock, and I was not ready. It was for this reason that I wanted to learn how to help people and be the person that I needed when I was fifteen.

I was so alone, I was so lost, I was so insecure.

I was stuck in the same pattern until I began to look within myself and to see my own resilience,

and a part of that resilience was being a woman.

The loss of a family member served as the catalyst to look deeply at who I was, figure out what I wanted from life, and unpack past trauma to learn from it and become secure in myself.

Once I decided that I wanted to be in a helping profession, I completed a degree in psychology and quickly moved on to obtain an Art Therapist designation. I was drawn to this form of therapy because of my belief that art is an amazing way to communicate thoughts and feelings. I continued my educational journey by obtaining a Masters in Counselling Psychology to give me additional tools to help people.

"Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes" - Carl Jung

In my twelve years of experience, I have had the opportunity to work with a broad range of age groups; clients in a state of personal crisis, and ones just striving to learn more about themselves. The most rewarding part of my job is helping people find their strengths and develop the tools they need to heal from within. In other words, as a therapist, I believe it is about walking alongside others and teaching people how to heal themselves.
