Woman standing at a crossroads, symbolizing choices and uncertainty during life transitions - Counselling can help

Therapy for Life Transitions

Life doesn’t always follow a straight path.

And sometimes, change—bad or good—can feel overwhelming.

At Dragonfly, our therapists offer a real, down-to-earth space where you can be yourself — no judgment, no pressure. We focus on building a relationship based on trust and meeting you where you’re at, so you feel truly heard and supported from the very first session.

Big life changes can shake your sense of identity.

Maybe you're stepping into a new chapter: starting university, starting or changing a career, beginning or ending a relationship, moving to a new city, getting married or becoming a parent. Or maybe you’re dealing with something less visible or questioning what’s next.

Even when we “should” be excited or grateful, change can bring up anxiety, self-doubt, grief, and uncertainty. You might find yourself thinking, “Who am I now?” or “Why do I feel so off?”

Transitions often stir up past wounds, fears, or insecurities—and many women feel pressure to keep it all together. But the truth is: you don’t have to navigate change alone.

These feelings are more common than you think...

Life transitions—whether they’re expected or sudden—can stir up a mix of emotions. Many women feel overwhelmed, untethered, or unsure during times of change. Even positive transitions, like starting a new job or becoming a parent, can bring stress and self-doubt. And challenging transitions—like breakups, career shifts, or loss—can leave you questioning your identity or direction.

It’s easy to feel like you should be handling it all with grace, especially when everyone around you seems to be managing just fine. But the truth is, many women struggle during times like these. You’re not broken, behind, or weak—you’re human. Change affects us all, and it’s okay to need space to process it.

At Dragonfly, we recognize that these moments of transition aren’t just logistical—they’re emotional, too. You deserve support as you navigate them.

But Have Some Questions...

What kinds of life transitions do you help with?

We support women through a wide range of transitions—both expected and unexpected. This includes things like starting/

finishing school, career changes, starting/ending relationships, becoming a parent, moving to a new city, experiencing loss or grief, entering a new stage of adulthood, or simply feeling stuck in a life that no longer feels like yours.

I’m not sure if what I’m going through is “big enough” to warrant therapy. Can I still come?

Absolutely. There’s no threshold your struggle has to meet to be valid. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, unmotivated, or unsure of yourself during a time of change, therapy can help. You don’t need a crisis to benefit from support.

I’m worried about taking time for myself—shouldn’t I just push through?

It’s common for women to feel pressure to keep going, take care of others, or maintain appearances. But pushing through without support often leads to burnout or feeling disconnected from yourself. Giving yourself time to reflect and get support isn’t selfish—it’s how you build resilience and move forward with clarity.

What if I’m struggling with multiple changes at once?

That’s very common—and it can be especially hard to navigate without support. Therapy can help you untangle the overwhelm, prioritize what matters most, and feel more grounded during uncertain times. You don’t have to sort through it all on your own.
