Figuring Out Friendships, Family, and Everything In Between
At Dragonfly, our therapists offer a real, down-to-earth space where clients can feel safe — no judgment, no pressure. We focus on building a relationship based on trust and meeting individuals where they are at, so they feel truly heard and supported from the very first session.
Is your daughter struggling with friendship drama, tension at home, or navigating the world of dating? Does she worry constantly about being left out, saying the wrong thing, or trying to please everyone around her? Maybe she seems consumed by social media, takes things personally, or often ends up feeling hurt and misunderstood.
Teenage years are a time of major change, and relationships—whether with friends, family,
or first crushes—can feel intense. For some girls, even small interactions can lead to anxiety,
self-doubt, or emotional ups and downs. You might notice your daughter withdrawing,
becoming easily frustrated, or saying she “can’t deal with people anymore.”
What's really going on beneath the surface?
Often, teen girls are trying to figure out who they are in a world that constantly
pressures them to act or look a certain way - especially in their relationships. The teen
years are often the time where sacrificing who they are to fit into the world begins.
We want her to embrace who she truly is and feel confident to put that into the world
around her.
At Dragonfly, we help girls untangle the confusion and learn to build stronger, healthier connections—with others and with themselves.

Whether it’s a falling out with a best friend, tension at home, or trying to understand romantic feelings, most teens go through emotional ups and downs in relationships. What makes it harder today is the constant connection to social media, where comparison, miscommunication, and pressure to be "liked" can make everything feel more intense.
Teen girls are often taught to put others first, be “easygoing,” or not cause drama—even if it means ignoring their own needs. That pressure can lead to emotional burnout, resentment, or a deep feeling of loneliness, even when surrounded by others. If your teen is feeling overwhelmed by the people in her life, she’s not alone—and she’s not being dramatic.
Her experiences matter. And they’re worth talking about.
Therapy offers a space to sort through complicated dynamics, express emotions safely, and build the skills to navigate relationships with more clarity, confidence, and self-respect.
At Dragonfly, our therapists specialize in working with teen girls—so we understand how personal and intense relationships can feel during these years. We know that trust is earned, and we take time to build a connection with each teen so she feels safe opening up.
In sessions, we create a relaxed, supportive space for your daughter to talk about what’s going on—without judgment or pressure. We explore what healthy relationships look like, how to set boundaries, and how to notice patterns (like always people-pleasing or overthinking texts).
Depending on her needs, therapy may include:
Understanding her emotions and why certain people or situations feel so overwhelming
Practicing how to speak up or say no without guilt
Exploring attachment styles and how past experiences shape her relationships
Learning how to handle conflict in ways that feel more empowering
Navigating romantic feelings, breakups, or friend breakups with compassion and strength
We also help your teen reconnect with herself—because healthy relationships start from within.
As she builds self-awareness and confidence, she becomes better equipped to make choices
that feel right for her and to surround herself with people who treat her with respect.
We’ve worked with many girls who’ve gone from feeling stuck and anxious in their relationships to feeling more grounded, respected, and in control. Therapy isn’t about “fixing” your teen—it’s about helping her feel seen, understood, and supported as she grows.
We get it. And we get her.
We can help her move from confusion to confidence.
Let’s start with a free 20-minute phone consult.
No pressure, no commitment—just a chance to talk, ask questions, and see if we’re the right fit.

Parents will definitely be involved to some extent. However, the content of the sessions will remain confidential to help build your teens trust. Teens need a sense of privacy in therapy to open up, but we keep parents informed of any safety concerns and any strategies that could help at home. We also welcome parent sessions if needed.
